    CUHRRC Team Biography

    Will ChegwiddenWill Chegwidden, BSc(OT)(Hons)

    Will began working as a Senior Occupational Therapist in 2000 in an HIV community social care team in an urban inner-city London, UK and in 2002 moved to St Bartholomew’s Hospital in central London working across the HIV pathway including the acute HIV inpatient ward and HIV outpatient clinic. At St Bartholomew's Will set up an innovative multidisciplinary HIV rehabilitation group along with the senior physiotherapist in 2005. In 2009 the St Bartholomew's Rehabilitation Unit hosted an international meeting where the Canada-UK HIV and Rehabilitation Research Collaborative (CUHRRC) was formed. Will was the inaugural Chair of the Rehabilitation and HIV Association (RHIVA) in the UK in 2010. Also in 2010 he lead a multidisciplinary team presenting a workshop about providing rehabilitation in international contexts at AIDS 2010 and in 2012 was a contributor to the British HIV Association’s Standards of Care for People Living with HIV. Since July 2013 Will has worked as a Senior Occupational Therapist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College Hospital London. Will holds postgraduate certificates in Men’s Health and in AIDS Management from Curtin University of Technology in Australia. His research interests include the real-life implications of HIV related neurocognitive impairment, the use of the Perceive, Recall, Plan, Perform Assessment, vocational rehabilitation, HIV and the older adult and outcome measurement in HIV rehabilitation.
