    CUHRRC Team Biography

    Gayle RestallGayle Restall, PhD

    Gayle Restall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She is a registered occupational therapist with a PhD from the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She teaches evidence-based practice courses. Her research interests and experience include involving people who require health services in their own care, program development, and social policymaking; exploring the experiences of people living with chronic health conditions (including HIV, mental illness and Inflammatory Bowel Disease) in accessing supports and service to participate fully in community life; integrating rehabilitation services into primary health care; and the uptake of evidence into rehabilitation practice. She is a Board Member of the Nine Circles Community Health Centre (a community-based non-profit health centre providing HIV/STI prevention and care) and the Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation, co-chairs the Research and Evaluation Subcommittee of the Specialized Services for Children and Youth (SSCY) project, and is the 2014-2015 Scientific Program Chair of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists National Conference.
